Volunteer Manager – Fundraising Events (Concessions Program)

Position Type: Full-Time (Flexible)
Location: Utah (primarily Salt Lake County and surrounding event venues)
Reports To: Executive Director

Position Overview

Golden Healers is seeking a highly organized, energetic, and people-focused Volunteer Manager to lead and grow our fundraising concessions program. This role is responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing volunteers who support concession-based fundraising events at major venues, including sporting events, concerts, and community gatherings.

This is a high-impact role that directly fuels our ability to provide service and therapy dogs to those in need.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement

  • Develop and execute strategies to recruit new volunteers
  • Build relationships with community groups, schools, and corporate teams
  • Maintain strong communication with all volunteers

Event Coordination & Management

  • Organize and manage volunteer staffing for concession events
  • Coordinate schedules, shifts, and assignments
  • Serve as on-site leader during events 

Training & Compliance

  • Train volunteers on concession operations, policies, and expectations
  • Ensure all volunteers meet venue requirements and standards
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation

Fundraising Optimization

  • Work to maximize revenue through efficient staffing and operations
  • Track event performance and identify opportunities for growth
  • Collaborate with leadership to expand concession partnerships

Leadership & Culture

  • Foster a positive, team-oriented volunteer experience
  • Recognize and retain high-performing volunteers
  • Represent Golden Healers with professionalism and enthusiasm

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 or older
  • Experience in volunteer management, event coordination, or nonprofit work preferred
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously
  • Comfortable working evenings, weekends & holidays(event-based schedule)
  • Passion for the mission of Golden Healer Service Dogs

Preferred Experience

  • Fundraising or nonprofit program management
  • Experience with large-scale events or venue operations
  • Familiarity with volunteer scheduling tools or CRM systems
  • Concession or retail management in fast pace environment
