Golden Healer Service Dogs is a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives through expertly trained service and therapy dogs. Our mission thrives because of visionary leaders who offer their time, talents, and passion to guide our growth and amplify our impact.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking diverse professionals with skills, networks, and experiences that align with our core needs and strategic goals. Ideal candidates may have backgrounds in:

  • Business & Finance
    — For budgeting, forecasting, investment guidance, and sustainable financial growth.

  • Legal & Compliance
    — For nonprofit governance, contracts, risk management, and regulatory oversight.

  • Veterinary Medicine & Animal Welfare
    — For expert insight into animal health and ethical care standards.

  • Fundraising & Philanthropy
    — To lead donor engagement, campaigns, and foundation/grant development.

  • Marketing & Public Relations
    — To grow brand awareness, media presence, and community engagement.

  • Healthcare & Mental Health
    — Especially professionals who understand the therapeutic benefits of service and therapy dogs in clinical or school settings.

  • Education & Youth Services
    — For guiding our school therapy dog programs and youth outreach initiatives.

  • Veteran or First Responder Advocates
    — To help us expand services supporting those who serve.

  • Technology & Operations
    — For improving internal systems, digital strategy, and efficiency.


Key Roles and Expectations

Board Members at Golden Healers are expected to:

  • Serve a renewable 2-year term and attend quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person).

  • Actively participate in committee work aligned with your skills and interests.

  • Be ambassadors of our mission, advocating in your networks and communities.

  • Help with fundraising, strategic planning, and organizational oversight.

  • Make a meaningful annual contribution, as you’re able, to demonstrate your commitment.
